Female Economic Empowerment

As a business woman I have observed how the current crises of a pandemic has turned the economy of many nations on their heads! No nation was prepared for a 3 months lock down. The impact of this will be felt in many industries for years to come. So many large organisations have been ground to halt by an invisible virus that has affected every corner of the civilised world. I do wonder though if Wakanda is affected – it will be my place of choice for a lock down.

I do wonder about cultures that denied their girls an education, and now those girls are mothers – expected to home school their children at this time, how would that work? If a girl is denied the basic human right of an education, what will be the impact on the next generation? Selah!

How do we recover from this? How do we kick start the economy? How do we get all industries back in business? The Governments can do what is within their remit to reboot their economies, but I believe that it is in the hands of “You and I”. You and I make up the Government. You and I need to dig deep within us to find new ways to doing business, find new way of governing, find new solutions to existing problems, seek out new problems and find lasting solutions.

There is an elixir about female economic empowerment; when you educate a girl, she becomes the woman that will teach the next generation

Female economic empowerment is about making sure we enable our nurturers to do what comes every so naturally to them – nurture!  By educating a girl, teaching her how to learn, then equipping her with the skills she requires to be creative and to be economically independent as she grows up, you have positively impacted her, her family, her community and the economy at large.

Let us engage, let us communicate, let us collaborate. It will take us coming together to generate a dynamic force that will reboot our economy and get us all going again.

“You give a woman a fish and you feed her for a day. You teach her to fish and you give her an occupation that will feed her for a lifetime.”
